On December 4, the City of Franklin broke ground on its new $132.8 million water reclamation facility upgrade project. According to Emily Kelly, LDA Senior Consultant, the project’s expansion, upgrades, and new technology will set a benchmark for treatment plants around the state.
LDA Engineering is pleased to welcome Reuben Robertson to our team of employees. A graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Reuben started his job as an engineer intern at LDA in September and is based in our Johnson City office. Reuben’s past professional experience includes working as a geotechnical engineering intern.
Jason Brooks, President/CEO of LDA Engineering, won the 2018 Best of Blount “Philanthropist of the Year” award at a ceremony held on November 1 at the Clayton Center for the Arts at Maryville College. The event honors businesses, entrepreneurs, and volunteers who have contributed their time, effort, and resources on behalf of Blount County.
LDA Senior Project Manager Stefanie Farrell, along with UT professor Jennifer Retherford, accompanied a team of University of Tennessee undergraduate engineering students on a recent trip to the WEFTEC Conference in New Orleans. The conference is considered the largest annual water quality technical conference and exhibition in the world.
Jim Albert, Geomatics Manager for LDA Engineering, has just started his third year as a mentor for the Future City Tennessee teams at Carpenters Middle School in Blount County. On Friday, September 7th, prior to the William Blount High School football game, Jim and the Future City team he coached last year, led by teacher KC Haworth, received special recognition by the Blount County School System.
Travis Miller, one of LDA Engineering’s newest employees, joined the company in February as a Geomatics CAD Designer. Travis’ work at LDA has involved collecting field data then using the data to make base drawings for sewer lines, wastewater treatment, and stormwater systems.
LDA Engineering has hired 40-year transportation veteran Terry Grubb as transportation services coordinator. Grubb, based in the Knoxville office, will assist clients with improving transportation infrastructure in support of community safety, mobility and economic development.
LDA Engineering has hired Kelli Richardson, P.E., as associate engineer and project manager. Richardson, who works out of the Chattanooga office, will provide civil/site design and project management on commercial, multi-family and residential projects, handle permit writing and build client relationships.
