Event supports sustainable living, business operations, building practices
As a leader in sustainable development in East Tennessee, LDA Engineering is proud to sponsor the 3rd Annual Rooftop Hop, which benefits Green Spaces, in downtown Chattanooga on Oct. 11. Green Spaces is a local charity, created in 2008, that promotes sustainability in all aspects of daily life.
“We believe in sustainable living, and we’re invested in Chattanooga’s future,” said Jason Brooks, CEO of LDA Engineering. “Rooftop Hop is the perfect sponsorship for LDA Engineering, because sustainability is integrated into everything we do. When we build water infrastructure in an area, we don’t just ask ourselves how we can accomplish our client’s goal, but we also evaluate and recommend the best way to protect and benefit the environment, too.”
The 2014 Rooftop Hop offers five exclusive parties with music, cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres on rooftops of downtown Chattanooga green buildings, including the main event atop the newly constructed, “The Block,” overlooking the city. Other locations include CitiPark Garage, High Point Climbing and Fitness, The Chattanoogan, Grace Frank Group and Hunter Museum of American Art. Each party will feature a different theme to be incorporated into the food and beverage offerings.
For the past two years, the Rooftop Hop has sold out, and the third year also is expected to be well attended.
“From the first year, Rooftop Hop has been one of the most popular events in Chattanooga,” Brooks said. “From those who are key stakeholders in sustainability to attendees who may not have considered environmental causes, it raises awareness for the importance of green practices.”
