Many Knoxville business leaders expect new year to bring growth, improved economy

Lamar Dunn and Associates, Inc. (LDA Engineering) recently hired Bruce Conatser, Justin Gilland and Dennis A. Shepherd, professionals with a combined 80 years of experience in the construction industry, to serve as resident project representatives. Shepherd and Conatser will operate from the Knoxville office, and Gilland will work in Morristown, Tenn.

LDA Engineering recently hired Tim Jett as senior project manager to oversee projects and serve clients in the Knoxville, Morristown, Oak Ridge and Chattanooga markets.
“Tim has more than 20 years of experience finding solutions for water-related issues,” said Jason Brooks, CEO of LDA Engineering. “His specialized background in wastewater sewer rehabilitations, as well as his skill in all areas of water engineering and design, will serve our clients well throughout our service area in Tennessee, Southeast Kentucky and Southwest Virginia.”
LDA Engineering announced the hiring of Steve Drummer as senior civil engineer to help serve clients in Tennessee, Southeast Kentucky and Southwest Virginia. Drummer has 34 years of experience in municipal engineering, site development, transportation and drainage design and construction.
“Steve’s wealth of experience on diverse projects will be an incredible asset to our clients,” said Jason Brooks, CEO of LDA Engineering. “Steve has extensive engineering knowledge of the drinking water, wastewater and stormwater management industry in both the municipal and private sectors.”
LDA Engineering recently announced the hiring of Tara Mallison as an environmental engineer to provide engineering-related services to clients who manage and operate water, wastewater and stormwater systems.
“Tara’s extensive knowledge and work ethic are real assets to LDA Engineering,” said Jason Brooks, president and CEO of LDA Engineering. “Tara’s passion and expertise for design of environmental systems to improve water quality and utility management will help us continue to create innovative, efficient solutions to our clients’ water-related challenges.”
LDA Engineering has been selected to lead the team to develop and recommend a green infrastructure master plan for the City of Chattanooga to complement traditional “gray” infrastructure, namely man-made sewer and stormwater structures, with sustainable green alternatives.
“We are honored to be selected to develop Chattanooga’s green infrastructure master plan,” said Jason Brooks, president and CEO of LDA Engineering. “Green infrastructure is an important component of the overall plan to create cost-effective, sustainable solutions to issues created by stormwater runoff and sewer overflows. The 10th Annual Kentucky/Tennessee Water Professionals Conference (WPC) will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville July 14-17, 2013.
LDA Engineering is sponsoring the conference which attracts more than a thousand water professionals from the two states. It features water-focused workshops, technical sessions, activities and industry awards.
LDA Engineering recently announced the hiring of Lauran Canacaris as client service analyst to manage marketing and promotional efforts for the company’s Knoxville, Chattanooga and Tri-Cities offices.
Knoxville-native rock ‘n’ roll band The Dirty Guv’nahs will bring their signature sound to the Concert Main Stage Friday, June 21, at 7 p.m. The Friday Night concert, sponsored by Lamar Dunn and Associates (LDA Engineering), also features Soul Candy and The Traffic Jam as the opening act.
