Walnut Street is an urban thoroughfare used as a pass-through in a high-traffic area. The street had become an unappealing, congested corridor. LDA worked with Johnson City to redesign the streets with new pedestrian and bicycle considerations, better access to adjacent businesses, parking, landscaping and ADA-compliant sidewalks. Below-ground, we designed enhancements to the water infrastructure to plan for current and future use.

The completed project offers a more inviting, vibrant district and allows for future economic development. LDA handled all aspects of the project in support of the city, including business surveys, coordinating with utilities, design and construction, for a seamless experience.
