Lamar Dunn and Associates, Inc. (LDA Engineering) recently hired Bruce Conatser, Justin Gilland and Dennis A. Shepherd, professionals with a combined 80 years of experience in the construction industry, to serve as resident project representatives. Shepherd and Conatser will operate from the Knoxville office, and Gilland will work in Morristown, Tenn.

These individuals are charged with observing the construction of our client’s projects to assure quality installations while maintaining LDA’s tradition of exceptional customer service,” said LDA Engineering President and CEO Jason Brooks. “We were fortunate to find these three men, who bring a total of 80 years’ experience in the industry and a shared commitment to quality assurance.”
Conatser brings 35 years of experience in the general construction, environmental construction and utilities industries. The Clinton, Tenn. resident most recently served as superintendent/operator for SpecPro Environmental Services LLC of Oak Ridge, a job that included projects at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Patrick Air Force Base. He is married with three children and five grandchildren.
Gilland, a Greeneville, Tenn. resident, previously served as supervisor/surveyor with Azimuth Engineering Inc. in Greeneville. Gilland graduated from Walters State Community College with an associate degree in business administration and an associate of applied science degree in management. He is active in the community, volunteering with the March of Dimes, Niswonger Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Shepherd has an expansive 36-year career that includes work on notable projects, including the 1982 World’s Fair site and the University of Tennessee’s Thompson-Boling Arena, as well as several projects in Oak Ridge, Tenn. He most recently served as senior civil designer at Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, Inc. Shepherd graduated magna cum laude from Pellissippi State Community College with a degree in civil engineering technology. The Powell resident has a grown daughter who is a middle school teacher and a son who is a senior at Powell High School. Shepherd is active with local high school sports, serving as a TSSAA-KFDA football official and a KSBUA baseball umpire.
As resident project representatives, the three men will work with our client’s contractors to observe construction and installation processes to assure all subcontractor work meets the specifications of the design and high customer service standards of LDA Engineering and its clients.
