LDA Engineering recently announced the hiring of Tara Mallison as an environmental engineer to provide engineering-related services to clients who manage and operate water, wastewater and stormwater systems.
“Tara’s extensive knowledge and work ethic are real assets to LDA Engineering,” said Jason Brooks, president and CEO of LDA Engineering. “Tara’s passion and expertise for design of environmental systems to improve water quality and utility management will help us continue to create innovative, efficient solutions to our clients’ water-related challenges.”
Mallison has six years of experience as an environmental engineer, coming to LDA Engineering after five years as an engineer at CH2M Hill, a global full-service engineering firm. While at CH2M Hill, Mallison worked on sewer rehabilitation projects for the Knoxville Utilities Board and the city of Baton Rouge, floodplain mapping for Clayton County, Ga., and a wastewater plant expansion in Lenoir City, Tenn.
One of Mallison’s first projects at LDA Engineering is developing a green infrastructure master plan for the city of Chattanooga. The master plan will intelligently utilize green infrastructure such as plant/soil systems, permeable pavement, stormwater harvesting and reuse or native landscaping to store, infiltrate, and evapotranspiration to reduce stormwater runoff and combined sewer system overflows.
In 2006, Mallison earned a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Auburn University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee with a master of science in environmental engineering in 2008.
Originally from Hendersonville, Tenn., Mallison currently resides with her husband, Tyler, and two daughters, Tesseri and Savannah, in West Knoxville.
