LDA Engineering has promoted Matthew “Matt” Movahed to senior vice president of engineering. In this role, he will serve as a member of the executive leadership team and will manage all engineering team members and their assignments to projects and programs.
“Matt sets the example as a leader and excels in his engineering expertise,” said Jason Brooks, CEO of LDA Engineering. “This role will expand his leadership and utilize both his people and project management skills to best serve our team members and clients. I congratulate Matt on this promotion.”
As Movahed moves into his new position, the company’s engineering teams will reorganize into five concentration groups based on function, including multimodal transportation engineering, water resources engineering, solid waste and landfill engineering, energy and natural gas engineering, and construction engineering and inspection (CEI).
“These concentration groups are intended to create a primary area of focus. However, we will always continue to be well-rounded, problem-solving engineers who seek first to serve our communities and clients well,” Brooks said.
Movahed is a Professional Engineer (PE), licensed in both Tennessee and Louisiana. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Louisiana State University. He is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Water Environment Federation (WEF) and Certified Water Professional (CWP). He holds OSHA 30 Hour certification, as well as NASSCO certifications in Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP®), Lateral Assessment Certification Program (LACP®) and Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP®).
Movahed resides in Knoxville with his wife, Jenna, and 8-month-old son Miles. He enjoys watching his son and his two cousins grow up together, playing soccer and watching “Seinfeld” with his wife.
