On Thursday, February 21st, Chattanooga held its Engineers Week Banquet at the DoubleTree Hotel. Engineers Week (“E-Week”) was founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and is among the oldest of America’s professional engineering outreach efforts. The banquet is the culmination of E-Week, which included various engineering related activities, tours, seminars and even STEM competitions for local school children.
The People to People Award was presented to LDA Engineering’s very own Kelli Richardson, P.E. This award is presented to the engineer that demonstrates unselfish devotion to service, makes outstanding personal and professional contributions to the community and engineering profession, and keeps the public welfare for the benefit of all people. Kelli said, “I am honored and humbled to be chosen this year as the recipient and feel privileged to be recognized for both my personal and professional efforts.”
Kelli is the Client Service Manager for the Chattanooga Office of LDA. She has her Professional Engineering license in three states, as well as multiple certifications and specialized licensures. In addition to her business development responsibilities, Kelli works with residential and commercial development clients. She is the President of the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) Chattanooga Chapter, and is involved in the Society of Women Engineers Chattanooga Section and the American Society of Civil Engineers Chattanooga Branch. Away from work, Kelli is President of the Stuffing Strut, Inc. not-for-profit, volunteers with several non-profits, and is active in her church, where she sits on the Building Committee. Kelli lives in Soddy Daisy with her husband of 20 years, Matt. They have two dogs and enjoy hiking together and working on their 100-year old Tudor revival house.
Congratulations, Kelli, on your well-deserved award!
