Brad has over 18 years of CAD Design experience, 18 of which have been at LDA Engineering. Since joining LDA, Brad has been the CADD designer on over 500 projects for clients throughout Tennessee. He has worked closely with all LDA engineers and LDA surveyors on numerous water and wastewater projects over his years at LDA Engineering. Brad’s experience includes the use of AutoCAD and Microstation software tools.
Brad was responsible for pipe processing updates to the digestors and digestor control buildings. He also did new layout, pipe processing for upgrades to the existing boiler building, and upgraded the existing waste activated sludge station.
CAD Designer, Wasterwater System Improvements – WWTP & Spring Creek Equalization Basins - Spring Creek Pump Station Rehabilitation, Oak Ridge, Tennessee (2016)
Brad created site plans, equalization basin tank drawings, and pump station drawings for the two equalization basin sites in Morristown. He also designed all the mechanical pipe layouts to the structures involved in the project.
The water treatment plant improvements included a new chemical storage building. Brad created the site plan, building layout, and all the mechanical piping to connect the chemical building to the main building at the water plant. Brad also completed the site grading for the new building and designed the new chemical feed building floor plans.
CAD Designer, Knoxville Utilities Board Cherokee Trail Water System Improvements, Knoxville, Tennessee (2006-2009)
Brad performed the site layout, yard piping, site grading, building floor plans, and mechnical piping plans for the new 500 GPM booster station. The project also involved approximately 3,000 linear feet of new 8-inch distribution piping and a new 500,000 gallon elevated steel water storage tank. For the new water tank, Brad performed site grading, yard piping plans, and tank plans. This project was needed to serve a new development including condominiums and an apartment complex.
Brad is the Senior CAD designer for the design drawings for the new waterline along Tennessee Avenue. The project includes full width pavement reclamation, design of ADA compliant sidewalk transitions at 10 intersections, and replacement of 4,500 linear feet of existing 10-inch water main with a new 12-inch water line. Brad laid out the waterline location and the connections back into the existing side lines.
Brad performed the layout of a new waterline along a new roadway design project using Microstation software. The project included approximately 30,000 linear feet of 12-inch water main impacted by a TDOT highway project. Challenges included keeping the existing mains operational during construction, crossing a river and major stream within 200 feet of each other, and maintaining an existing 500,000 gallon storage reservoir and major water booster station in service.
