Vantage View Drive is the sole access across Havley Branch in Morristown for over sixty residences. The existing culverts conveying the stream under Vantage View consists of a 48-inch corrugated metal pipe that has collapsed and completely ceased functioning and a 30-inch steel pipe that has to carry the entire flow.
LDA provided survey and design services to build a new 400-foot long section of roadway upstream of the existing roadway with a double 12’x7’ concrete box culvert, sized to pass the 100-yr FEMA flows of Havley Branch. A new location for a stream crossing was necessary to maintain traffic during construction. Additional services included applications to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) for funds to assist in both the design and construction costs. Environmental permits for the project included an Aquatic Resource Alteration Permit (ARAP) and a Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMAR).
