LDA is leading the design efforts for the Mini Basin 39C3 Rehabilitation project for the wastewater system located in the Vestal Community of South Knoxville. The age and condition of the infrastructure for a large part of this basin was observed to be in need of rehabilitation or replacement. Difficulties include some of the sewer lines being at great depths, located in close proximity of railroad tracks, near stream environments, and in an area of high population density.
Due to these challenges, the use of underground installations were critically important. This project consists of installing approximately 4,600 lf of 8-inch and 500 lf of 12-inch HDPE using the pipe bursting method. Also included in the project is rehabilitation of 7,700 lf of 8-inch pipe and 80 lf of 12-inch pipe using Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP), 26 manhole replacements, installation of one new manhole, 31 manhole rehabilitations with cementitious manhole liners, three pipeline point repairs, and seven internal CIPP patch point repairs.Back to Projects
